Thelma Rowden

Thelma is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and a member of the National Association of Social Workers with the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Thelma received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Jacksonville State University and her graduate degrees in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University and Social Work from the University of Alabama. She currently works on an Acute Intensive Adult Psychiatric Unit and has her own Private Practice. Thelma is actively involved in her community and prides herself by meeting her clients where they are. During the course of working with clients, she uses an eclectic approach, drawing from Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT)™ as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy. She guides clients of all ages, through individual sessions and psycho-educational groups, to address eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, self-harm and relationship issues. Thelma looks forward to working with those in need of her services.
