Marbie Descatamiento is a psychotherapist in private practice and founder of Central Healing Therapy LLC. She also works as a clinician with adults recovering from co-occurring disorders in community mental health. Marbie has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional, Mental Health Professional, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She has extensive experience working in the mental health field and substance use addiction field. She has background in trauma therapy and forensic counseling. Marbie has worked in residential, inpatient, and outpatient programs as a counselor, case manager, and clinician working with children, teens, families, and adults in recovery from mental illness, including eating disorders, and substance use. As a volunteer she counseled survivors of domestic violence at a DV shelter, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, interex, asexual (LGBTQIA) youth and young adults at a drop in center. Currently she volunteers for a non-profit organization promoting healthy, stigma-free mental wellness, mental health awareness, recovery, and preventative programs. Marbie enjoys reading, writing poetry and songs, playing instruments, singing, travelling, meditating, cooking, hiking, and participating in athletic events, especially running marathons.
