Gale Stonehouse

Gale graduated from SIAST Wascana Campus with an Emergency  Medical Technician diploma and SIAST Saskatoon Campus with a diploma in Primary Care Paramedics. She spent 15 years in health care, working and instructing. Gale also obtained an instructor certificate from Applied Suicide Intervention Skills in Calgary, Alberta, which qualified her to perform suicide interventions. She also has certificates in the Grief Recovery Method and Edu-therapy, helping individuals learn to cope with loss. Gale was a recipient of Saskatchewan Emergency Medical Services Association Stars of Life award. For many years, Gale engaged in emotional eating as a way to comfort herself, unaware that her emotional health was in jeopardy. She began her journey to recovery from eating disorders in her 40’s after the unexpected death of her 20 year old son. Searching for answers, Gale obtained treatment at the BridgePoint Center for Eating Disorders, and subsequently felt inspired to help others overcome the issues she struggled with. She believes that all of her life experience makes her a more understanding coach. Gale offers one on one sessions with individuals either in person or via phone. She hosts a free telephone conference call every month, and schedules walks in nature on her walkie-talk trail, located in peaceful, rural Saskatchewan.
